History

The District is a municipal utility district created by order of the Texas Water Rights Commission, predecessor to the TCEQ, dated January 23, 1973, and operates under the provisions of Chapters 49 and 54 of the Texas Water Code, as amended, and other general statutes applicable to municipal utility districts. The District is located wholly within the exclusive extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston, Texas (“Houston” or the “City”). The District contains approximately 723 acres of land and is located in southwestern Harris County and northeastern Fort Bend County. The District is located approximately 20 miles west of downtown Houston, approximately one-half mile west of State Highway 6 (“SH 6”). Bellaire Boulevard forms a portion of the northern boundary of the District, and the District is bisected by Addicks-Clodine Road.
